Let The Guy Do His Job

Okay, so by now, you’ve probably heard of the anti-Uwe Boll petition that’s been circulating. If you haven’t, then the gist of it is, that if the petition gets 1,000,000 signatures then Uwe Boll will stop making movies.

Personally, I can’t say whether or not his movies are any good, I’ve never seen them. From some of the descriptions I’ve seen, they sound like the kinds of movies that I’d like. On the other hand, a lot of people seem to dislike his movies. That’s fine. People are entitled to their opinion.

What I don’t understand is why people feel they need to push Uwe Boll to stop making movies. They don’t like his movies, fine, I understand that. There’s a simple idea that people need to keep in mind… IF YOU DON’T LIKE HIS MOVIES, THEN DON’T WATCH THEM! Pretty simple, huh? If you don’t like his movies, no one is forcing you to watch them. The man has a right to keep on making movies. That’s his job, that’s what he enjoys doing.

I don’t like romantic comedies, and you don’t see me circulating petitions to have writers and directors to stop making romantic comedies, I simply ignore them.

Too many people these days seem to think that the world revolves around them, and their opinions. Everything has to conform to what they want. If they don’t like a movie director, he shouldn’t be allowed to make movies anymore. If they don’t like a certain book, it should be banned from the bookstores. If they don’t like a TV show, it should be canceled. This B.S. needs to stop. Different people have different opinions on movies, TV shows and such.

Leave Uwe Boll alone, let him make the movies that he wants to make. Some people will like them, and some won’t. And I think it bears repeating, IF YOU DON’T LIKE HIS MOVIES, THEN DON’T WATCH THEM! Let those that do enjoy his movies continue to watch them.
